Not the official Minecraft font
Many people searching for a Minecraft font download want the exact lettering from the game. That font is part of Minecraft's game assets, which are owned by Mojang, so we don't offer it, link to it or explain how to extract it. MC Build Kit Pixel is an original font drawn from scratch: it shares the chunky, square-pixel look of block-game text, but every glyph is our own, and we can give it away under a simple license.
What's in the font

How to install the font
Windows 10 and 11
Download the TTF, right-click mcbuildkit-pixel.ttf and choose Install, or Install for all users to make it available to every account on the PC. Double-clicking the file and pressing Install in the preview also works. Restart apps that were already open.
macOS (Font Book)
Double-click the TTF in Finder and click Install. You can also drop the file onto the Font Book window. Font Book checks the file and adds MC Build Kit Pixel to every app's font menu.
Linux
Install it for your user account and refresh the font cache:
mkdir -p ~/.local/share/fonts cp mcbuildkit-pixel.ttf ~/.local/share/fonts/ fc-cache -f fc-list | grep "MC Build Kit"
The last command should print the file path followed by MC Build Kit Pixel:style=Regular.
Using it in Canva, Photoshop, OBS and Google Docs
- Canva: Canva doesn't use fonts installed on your computer. Upload the TTF from the home page via Brand → Fonts → Add to category → Upload a font. Font upload is available on Canva Pro, Teams, Business, Education and Nonprofits, and only to team owners, admins and brand designers. Canva accepts TTF, OTF and WOFF, not WOFF2. The font's embedding permission is set to Installable, the least restrictive setting.
- Photoshop: install the font, restart Photoshop and pick MC Build Kit Pixel. Use a size that is a multiple of 8 px and set anti-aliasing to None in the Character panel for hard pixel edges.
- OBS Studio: add a Text source (Text (GDI+) on Windows, Text (FreeType 2) on macOS and Linux), click Select Font and choose MC Build Kit Pixel. If it is missing, restart OBS after installing.
- Google Docs: Docs only offers the fonts in its own list (Font → More fonts) and can't upload font files. Make the title with the font generator and add it with Insert → Image.
Use the font on a website
Upload the WOFF2 and TTF to your own site, then add this CSS and adjust the paths. font-display: swap shows a fallback font until the pixel font has loaded.
@font-face {
font-family: "MC Build Kit Pixel";
src: url("/fonts/mcbuildkit-pixel.woff2") format("woff2"),
url("/fonts/mcbuildkit-pixel.ttf") format("truetype");
font-display: swap;
}
.pixel-title {
font-family: "MC Build Kit Pixel", monospace;
font-size: 32px; /* multiples of 8 stay sharp */
-webkit-font-smoothing: none;
}
Want an image instead of a font?
If you only need a title for a thumbnail, server banner or logo, you don't have to install anything. The Minecraft font generator uses this same font in your browser and adds material gradients, 3D depth, outlines and glow, then saves PNG, SVG or JPG at YouTube, Discord and X sizes. For colored text inside the game, use the gradient text generator or the color codes list.
